Besides Traffic Geyser, there is a free service called Tube Mogul. It works in much the same way. Additionally there is a software package I found called Tube Mastery (http://www.websitemarketingskills.com/recommends/TubeMastery) which works really well in terms of how to market on YouTube. I would just buy that program and familiarize yourself with it.

The best advice i can give is learn your scales. start with the pentonic scales first for most rock/blues. the other bit of advice is don't quit. the learning curve is fairly high at the beginning and that is where most ppl give up. if you stick with it for 6 months you'll never quit.

Whilst Mamianka is right about home/self tution not being a good idea, that advice doesnt help you out, i teach vocals and know what its like as a vocalist to want to improve but have absolutely no funding to do so! I was lucky that i studied popular music so had singing lessons throughout my 6 years of College and university.
So Firstly and importantly, if you are serious about being a singer/performer enrol on a course! That is the easiest way to get free or cheaper vocal lessons, if you are at college/University you usually get them free as your major subject. – Personally id say this is your only option because if you arent really bothered about doing it as a career there is no point attempting your own study.
If you want to practice at home (ideally you would have a pro lesson once a week and practice as well) BUT seeing as you cant.
1: Get hold of a keyboard
2: Buy a music theory book that will tell you scales. If you go into a music shop and say you want a book with All the notes of all the key signatures they should be able to help.
3: When you get the book, get hold of a piano and play each note of each scale. I.e – Playing C Major Scale has the following note – C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C. – GMajor scale has the following noted G, A, B, C, D, E, F#, G – ETC
Your job is to play a not and repeat it vocally, start by playing the note, then playing it again as you sing with it, singing the word "LA" pronounce LAR (as in Large)
You aim is to get your voice to sing the note as perfect to that of the keyboard as possible.
4: Whilst you are doing the above have a tape recorder running recording the session and play back the tape at the end to see how good/bad you were at hitting the pitches. Be critical, dont think "ahh its close enough" Aim for perfection and that should help you along.
